Editorial Reviews:

The book was written in an attempt to answer some of the common sense business questions related to Enterprise Architecture. What are the issues? What is Enterprise Architecture? Why should an organization consider Enterprise Architecture? And how to build the Enterprise Architecture.
An innovative Enterprise Architecture Framework is proposed. The framework looks like a content page showing the chapters of a book or in this case the components of the Enterprise Architecture without actually describing them but showing how they fit into the whole.
The book then identifies and summarises Best Practices in the Enterprise Architecture development. Practices will be outlined at each phase of a proposed Enterprise Architecture building process which in itself becomes a suggested good practice.
The book is intended to be a document essentially summarising why and how to build an Enterprise Architecture.

Customer Rating: Summary: A unique and ingenious approach to EA Comment: I needed a book to understand what Enterprise Architecture is, why it matters, what it looks like, and how strategy is applied in practice. I am a postgraduate student of Business and Economics with a knowledge of IT and I have a few assignments around the operations, strategy and restructuring of a firm.
I found that, while the book serves my purpose to a good degree, it also touches IT, business process development and many other aspects including people and politics, all knit together in a framework. While the book does not offer a case study, reading specific chapters such as strategy, business case, frameworks, relationship to other methods reveals valuable information to students, academics, business people etc since it offers a comprehensive view of enterprise architecture. Although too complex for me, I imagine that many others would find, like myself, the information they need, integrated and explained. I would give it top marks although sometimes it looked to me that work is still in progress.
Customer Rating: Summary: Extremely disappointing Comment: This book does not cover EA in any form or shape. The text, diagrams and content of the book seems so shallow that it appears that the whole book was written in just one night. The whole content of this book can be accomodated in 4-5 page article, but the author/designers have filled some 50 odd pages with lausy diagrams, and double spaced - bulletted text.
Book fails to connect with the real business reasons why EA at the first place(?). This was the first book which I read about EA, because this came first to my search results on Amazon. I did read lot of other books and papers following this purchase to have my opinon about this book confirmed - Absolutely disappointing book I ever bought!
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth your money Comment: It is quite compensive, which nearly cover all of the EA's area.
If you are interesting in knowing the real business case and issue
i strongly recommend you read some chapter of this book.
